Our dogs have eaten shoes. Plural. They've rolled in things we can't identify and don't want to. They've woken us at 4am because a leaf moved outside. They've turned a "quick walk" into a 45-minute investigation of one particular patch of grass.

They shed on everything we own. They smell after rain. They steal food the second we look away. They bark at their own reflection, the postman, and sometimes just the concept of a door.

And we wouldn't trade a single second of it.

Because here's the other side. They're at the door every time we come home like we've been gone for years. They know when we've had a bad day before we do. They don't care what we look like at 6am — they think we're incredible. They forgive everything, instantly, always, without even thinking about it.

That's the thing about dogs. The relationship makes no sense on paper. It's chaotic, messy, occasionally disgusting, and the best thing in our lives.

2 Matchy Mutts exists because we wanted to wear that bond. Not in a precious, inspirational-quote kind of way. In an honest way. The kind that makes another dog person look at you and go: "Yeah. I get it."
